Rosary Aotearoa – A Nation United in Prayer

Rosary Aotearoa – A Nation United in Prayer

Rosary Aotearoa is a grassroots Catholic prayer initiative in New Zealand through Father Sam Pulanco - parish priest of the Diocese of Auckland, dedicated to promoting national unity through the powerful devotion of the Holy Rosary. We began humbly on 7 October 2018, when faithful from across the country gathered to pray the Rosary at 3:00 PM in homes, churches, schools, and public spaces, answering Our Lady of Fatima’s call for prayer, penance, and peace.

Inspired by similar movements around the world, Rosary Aotearoa was formed to bring together the diverse communities of Aotearoa New Zealand in a shared spiritual mission. Each year, on the first Sunday of October, we invite all Catholics, Marian devotees, families, and parishes to join in a simultaneous nationwide recitation of the Rosary at 3:00 PM.

We believe that through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our prayers can transform hearts, renew families, and bless our nation. As a country rich in culture and faith, we celebrate this event as an expression of unity—one heart, one nation, one prayer.
